On May 20th, Bay City will celebrate its fourth anniversary. It’s always a ton of fun, and everyone is invited, not just Bay City Residents.
Anniversary celebrations will kick off around noon SLT/PDT, with a parade lineup at the bandshell in Bay City – Harwich. The parade will make its way down Route 66 beginning at 12:30 p.m. SLT/PDT, concluding at the Bay City Fairgrounds in the North Channel region.
A live concert will kick off at 1:30 p.m. SLT/PDT at the Fairgrounds, featuring Christov Kohnke, Bluemonk Rau, and RoseDrop Rust, and including GoSpeed Racer of KONA Stream providing music leading into the event. The “Golden Tigers” aerial acrobatic team is also planning a flyover of the fairground at approximately 1:30 p.m. SLT/PDT.
Like I said, everyone is welcome, even encouraged, to be a part of it. Posters, banners, parade float bases, and other goods are available at the Bay City Community Center, in the Daley Bay region, for those who wish to be a part of the parade, and able viewing area is provided. The music event is also open to all who desire to attend.
In years past we’ve had marching bands (both human and brass robot based), balloons, floats, stilt walkers, equestrian units (both with people mounted on the horses and just the horses themselves), “shriners” (we have cars and fezzes available, for free, in the aforementioned center), wind up ducks, tinies, furries, kids, and just about everything else. While this is a celebration of Bay City, we welcome every community to come and participate, much like the Rose Parade in first life Pasadena welcomes, say, Culver City and Garden Grove to have floats. The only things we disallow are physical vehicles (wearable vehicles are A-OK!). Other standard TOS restrictions apply: many of the regions are General rated.
So come on and join us! I’ll be in my usual Blurtophone Band attire and helping to lead the festivities!
